Room- and Surface disinfection

Surface disinfection is one of the most important actions for preventing the spread of germs. Surfaces that come into frequent contact with skin or hands pose especially high risks of infection. Numerous studies have shown that germs can survive on inanimate surfaces for months. Regular wiping and disinfection of these sensitive areas significantly minimise the risk of infection. With RUCK surface disinfectants the focus is not only on material compatibility and a broad spectrum of activity, but also on minimising the impact on people and the environment.

Cleaning Disinfectants can form a film, especially with frequent use, which not only looks unsightly but can also have taken materials to a point of discolouration.

We therefore recommend that our customers clean all disinfected surfaces once a week. Our RUCK all-purpose cleaner is especially suitable for this purpose.

Performing surface disinfection
To enhance the disinfecting effect, surface disinfectants are applied using the scrub-wipe method (‘mechanical method’). Mechanical wiping loosens adhering contaminants and distributes the product evenly. If the surface is visiblely dry, it can be used again. The product must not be removed after drying, but must remain on the surface for the entire contact time. All RUCK surface disinfectants are VAH-listed, along with being user-friendly.

Fast and effective surface disinfection with disinfectant wipes

Pre-soaked disinfectant wipes are becoming increasingly popular due to their simple yet effective directions. However, as with all disinfection methods, there are important points to bear in mind when using disinfectant wipes: wipes that protrude from the bucket when the lid is not closed can dry out and then lose their effectiveness. It is therefore especially important to ensure that the bucket is securely closed. Once the last wipe has been used, the containers must be sanitised in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions before being refilled with wipe rolls and disinfectant solution.

Alcohol-based disinfectant wipes vs. alcohol-free disinfectant wipes
Choosing the right ingredients for disinfectant wipes is essential for

material compatibility. Alcohol can quickly dry out the surface of materials and make them brittle. It is therefore advisable to avoid using alcohol-based disinfectants on sensitive surfaces such as synthetic leather or acrylic glass. Despite the alcohol content in our disinfectant wipes, we have taken care to keep this as low as possible to ensure gentle directions for use on materials. However, we recommend using an alcohol-free option, particularly for magnifying lamps. For even greater safety and ease of directions, we recommend our pre-soaked disinfectant wipes. These already have the correct mixture of disinfectant concentrate and water.

Concentrate or ready-to-use solution – you choose

The most commonly used products for surface disinfection are ready-to-use solutions or concentrates to be diluted with water. Ready-to-use solutions are practical to use, thanks to the fact that the manufacturer has already ensured the correct mixing ratio of concentrate and water.

However, if you mix the surface disinfectant yourself, it is important to observe the correct mixing ratio. Disinfectant concentrates must be diluted according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Aerosol spray cans

Our aerosol spray cans impress with their high yield, highly excellent recyclability and long-lasting adhesion, even on vertical surfaces. In terms of output, a 400 ml aerosol spray bottle is roughly equivalent to a conventional 1-litre spray bottle. Even, comprehensive coverage is guaranteed.
