More flexibility in day-to-day practice: the new Start-Stop Tag for the Nova Pro and Nova SE

Efficient workflows are created where technology provides intuitive support. With the new Start-Stop Tag, RUCK is expanding the Nova range with an accessory designed specifically to meet the requirements of modern podiatry and chiropody practices: easy starting and stopping of the handpiece motor – entirely without pressing a single button.

The Start-Stop Tag has been specially developed for the Nova Pro and Nova SE and complements the devices’ automatic start/stop function to provide even greater versatility in day-to-day practice. Users who prefer to position the handpiece directly at their workstation or against their body will especially benefit from this new shape of intuitive control.

In many treatment situations, one thing matters above all else: a fluid sequence of movements. Particularly in mobile practices or in practices with customised set-ups, the handpiece is often not placed in its holder in the traditional way, but instead, for example, on the lap or directly at the workstation. This is precisely where the new start & stop tag comes into its own.

Thanks to simply bringing the handpiece close to the tag, the handpiece motor starts or stops – just as intuitive as a traditional switch, yet significantly more flexible in use. This reduces unnecessary movements and supports ergonomic working during treatment.

The result: less interruptions, faster workflows and operation that integrates naturally into the work process.

The start & stop tag has been designed to integrate flexibly into a wide variety of working environments.

• Magnetic attachment to metallic surfaces
  Thanks to its built-in magnet, the tag can be attached directly to metallic furniture or furnishings – for example, to the ROOM move or the MOON treatment chair/couch. This ensures the control unit stays where it is needed in day-to-day practice.
• Secure on non-metallic surfaces
  A suitable adhesive pad is located for wooden surfaces or other non-metallic furniture. This allows the tag to be securely positioned almost anywhere – regardless of the existing furnishings.
• Attach directly to clothing
  Using the included magnetic backing plate, the start-stop tag can be worn directly on clothing. This provides maximum freedom of movement during treatment – suitable for users who would like to work with particular flexibility.

Care must always be taken to maintain a distance of 30 cm from pacemakers and defibrillators. This applies to both users and patients.

The benefits of the new accessories are also evident in the finer details when changing instruments. The motor can be stopped immediately via the tag, without the need to operate the display. This facilitates quick bur changes and helps you to stay focused on your work – particularly in treatment situations where instruments are changed frequently.

The Start-Stop-Tag has been fully integrated into the Nova system and works seamlessly with the Nova Pro and Nova SE.

The tag is used in parallel with the handpiece holder’s existing automatic start/stop function. This allows users to determine flexibly which control mode is best suited to the situation at hand so that it is ideal.

For Nova Pro devices already in use, the function will be made available via a software update. New Nova SE devices from 2026 onwards will feature this integration as standard from version 1.07 onwards. Existing devices can be updated via the RUCK service.
